FROM BELIZE...

We made it to Belize in one piece!  The group was so excited to finally touch down in Belize and get our trip started.  The first person we met was Juan, our guide for the week.  He took us to Monkey Bay for lunch and a little relaxation in the hammocks.  After that we started the 3 hour drive to the Cockscomb Jaguar Preserve.  It was a long drive but the scenery was beautiful and the kids had a great time on the drive.  We made it to the preserve, settled into our cabins and got ready for dinner.  You should all be very proud of your children.  They did an AMAZING job all day long.  It was a long day and we were all very tired but they never once complained or got mad at each other.  We are looking forward to the rest of the week!!  Don’t forget to leave your child comments on the blog.  We will read them every time we can connect to the internet.

Good Morning Caribbean Campers!

Hope your "blurry" eyes of yesterday morning, are "bright" eyes today, via a great nights' sleep.  Beginnings are always exciting; embrace and enjoy the excitement this adventure brings as it unfolds today and tomorrow.

Lots of Luck,

Jason - Leigh Van Ryn

Elizabeth/Jason - please make sure Leigh took one of her chloroquin/malaria pills Saturday. She had NOT taken it as of separation time yesterday at the airport. She started with two partial tablets in the pill bottle in her meds bag. One was for Saturday 3/26, the other for 4/2. Also please make sure she takes two bismuth tablets morning and evening every day.

Thanks and have fun.

Hello Parents,
I just heard word from Jason Hunter that the group has arrived safely in Belize. They will now head to Monkey Bay Sanctuary (http://www.monkeybaybelize.org/) for snacks and a bathroom break before continuing to the Jaguar Coscksomb Reserve, where they will stay tonight in cabins. The adventure has begun! Do not hesitate to call me with any questions on (303) 679-3412.
